PADDLING IN CURRENTS

Montreal is an amazing place to paddle in currents. The opportunities are endless... and it is fun! However some fundamental skills are necessary to stay safe and increase the fun factor. During this course we will cover:

  • Safety practices

  • Anatomy of the river and its features

  • Breaking in and out of eddy lines

  • Turns

  • Rescues

Previous experience is necessary. Knowledge of rolling is a plus.

Suggested courses prior to this one: PC Intro to kayaking 

PC level 1 & 2 skills, Safety and Rescue. Rolling.

SAFETY & RESCUES

125$ per person / + 50 with kayak / ratio 1:4 / Montreal 

In this course we cover:

  • Safety and rescue equipment

  • Assisted rescues

  • Unassisted rescues

  • Towing

 

To enjoy and practice sea kayaking, knowing rescues is fundamental. The aim of this course is to get you comfortable with both being rescued and rescuing peers. We adapt the level of the curriculum to the participants.

No previous experience necessary.

Suggested courses prior to this one: Paddle Canada Intro to Kayaking .

SEA KAYAK SURFING

125$ per person / + 50 with kayak / ratio 1:4 / Montreal 

In this course we cover:

  • Safety in currents 

  • Anathomy of the wave  

  • How to stay on the wave

  • Turns and tricks

 

To enjoy and practice sea kayaking, knowing rescues is fundamental. The aim of this course is to get you comfortable with both being rescued and rescuing peers. We adapt the level of the curriculum to the participants.

Previous experience is necessary. Combat rolling mandatory.

Suggested courses prior to this one: PC level 2 skills, Safety and Rescue. Rolling.
